believe that this theatre is in Durban! I want to emphasise that you can park your car in the grounds - completely safe! I was lucky enough to see Rory Rootenberg on stage performing in his musical revue Behind the Mask. The sound quality and lighting were superb and of course in this sweltering heat it was such a pleasure to sit in air conditioning! Rory has the most beautiful voice something you should never miss to hear.
What made it more pleasurable is the intimate setting of the stage. It is a delightful stage. Its not huge and its not a matchbox - somewhere in between. The stage itself is the next target for renovations and improvements I believe.
The folk that attend these shows - well they are friendly and jolly. Just like me! And don’t worry if you need a fag, you can grab one in the interval you can smoke outside! Its without a doubt a magical venue. It has a certain mystique created by Roland and his wonderful team of devoted thespians. You simply cannot go wrong in your choice if you decide to visit this wonderful magical place - The Rhumbelow Theatre! My advice is to email Roland (see next page) and get onto their ezine maillist today!
