As an old wrinkly like myself one has time to reflect and the other day I was sitting on my favourite chair, having just such a quiet think. The thing on my mind was what is wrong with today’s world that we have so much crime, corruption and general moral decadence.
The saying that Power corrupts and Absolute power corrupts absolutely popped into my mind. It is so true. Business and Politics, which (unfortunately) appear to be in the control of our lives, are in the hands of greedy men and women doing their utmost to destroy competition and achieve absolute power. Even the various religions are trying to dominate each other. Well you silly people. God is watching you! He has allowed yo the freedom to choose but I’m afraid He will not allow you to destroy the planet in your quest. Be very careful what you do and how you do it from now on. Earlier civilisations achieved glory and then suddenly disappeared...Some were destroyed by greedy men and women but others have vanished quite mysteriously.
While on this subject I would like to point out that the tea and coffee we drink today cause me to feel quite icky. I thought that that was because of my age and the digestive systems faulty - not so! I have found that the tea we drink today is junk. A company called Dilmah produces a wonderful range of pure teas that is a complete joy to drink! No doubt big greedy evil business will try to destroy them. I have discovered a coffee I can tolerate - Melitta - of course its imported because our coffee and tea is controlled by a monopoly. (Just like JR Ewing folks).
Mozzie and Zippy cabs - when someone phones for a cab - give them a unique code number or ticket number like 12 or BROWN COW or some such thing and assign a can to pick them up with this number. The person wanting the cab will have to give this number or code to the Cab driver or else he won’t pick them up. The reason for this is to prevent unscrupulous members of the public from telling the driver that they phoned in and stealing the cab from the poor old lady who has been waiting patiently for her taxi for 20 or so minutes (yes we have people like this in our country).
