THE PATH TO HELL
I would like to remind your readers that there is a trite but true saying “the path to hell is paved with good intentions”. This is what is happening in the world today. Everybody has expressed good intentions from the despicable suicide bomber to our own President but we all appear to be sinking deeper and deeper into hell! My plea to all is stop trying to be so good and just love your neighbour as you would yourself. Really that is all that is needed to wipe out the destruction and mayhem we are now surrounded by. Your neighbour does not want you to kill him or yourself! He doesn’t want good intentions when he is starving. Before you do anything look into your own heart and read the ten commandments. Don’t

put all sorts of fancy meanings into these ten commandments - just obey them and you will see how the world will change around you.

THUMB SUCK STATS
There are so many conflicting statistics floating about it’s difficult to know which are flase or padded! But there is one I’d like to know. The Receiver of Revenue claims to have increased the collection of taxes enormously in the past decade. The questions I want answered are:

1	Has the tax base increased - in otherwords are there more taxpayers now? I think not as unemployment is so high.

2	What percentage of the taxes collected comes from VAT and whats was that percentage in 1992?

I suspect that the VAT taxes are a huge proportion of the taxes collected. The reason I say this with confidence is because the prices have doubled and even trebled on VAT rated commodities.
