The programme runs and you are presented with a menu with various selections. The artwork - by Millmore makes the Ancient Egyptian culture come alive! Mark is a graduate of Falmouth School of Art where he did his BA Honours degree in Fine Arts,
a fellow of the Royal Society
of Painter Printmakers is well
published and a celebrated
webdesigner/master. His
credentials are impeccable
and its the end user that
benefits from this. He adds
colour and texture to the
sterile pictures that we have
in traditional imagery of
Ancient Egypt. We were lucky
enough to ask Mark 4
questions which he answered
for us and is featured on the last page of this article.
The CD allows you to explore an Introduction to Ancient Egypt, look at the various Kings and Queens of Ancient Egypt, a comprehensive list of dynasties, pyramids and temples, Heiroglyphs, gods and goddesses, everyday life, ancient stories (did you know that Cinderella was an ancient Egyptian story) and of course Mummies!! Its easy to navigate and features great music by Jazz muso and composer Andy Sheppard. The whole CD is a work of Art! There is a complete Map of Ancient Egypt and timeline too!
Each section is filled to the brim with information. The text often has extra bits of information too. Its a wealth of information - ideal for any child or student doing projects on Ancient Egypt. In the Heiroglyph section you can see a video of how papyrus was made and learn how to write your name in Heiroglyphics with the included programmes Egyptian name translator and Glyph Tutor for Windows! You also learn about ancient Egyptian mathematics and there is even an ancient Egyptian Math Calculator programme! Likewise in Everyday life you learn
about all facets of everyday life - medicine, clothing etc. As well as you can play the ancient game of Senet - the programme is included!
Without giving too much away we want to mention the Section
of Pyramids and Temples. This
is an area of expertise of Mark
Millmore! What you will see
on this CD will amaze you. Mark
has used his artistic talents to
recreate the Ancient Temples to
what they would have looked like
at the time and the result is
breathtaking! Most people have
difficulty imaging what these
temples and ancient sites would
have looked like but Mark has
made it very easy for everyone !
Mark has spent extensive time in Egypt looking at an documenting the
ruins. Some
ruins still have
original
paintwork which
makes his task
much easier!
