Well I had the chance to go and see the incredible Lisa Bobbert in her show, Bobbert Uncut during April. I was familiar with Lisa on the radio and other mentions but this show really slayed me! Her programme taunted Lisa with letha comedic skills and that is very apt.
I would say that Lisa is more satirist then direct comedian. Her show offers
morethan a bundle of laughs but there are hints of really crisp, dry humour
Almost’ black humour at times. This is one sophisticated lady. The show
was put on at the Playhouse Loft which suits this sort of genre to a tea.
Thank God we did not sit in the front row - although I am sure the chaps
in the front row enjoyed the attention from some of the characters!
Bobbert Uncut tells a story of Lisa Bobbert’s friends that she has met along
the way. We meet her friend Charmaine a kugel from hell! I hardened
Hanlie found myself simply sitting there absorbing the charm of this
woman! Lisa has thought of everything and her Charmaine and butch
Chantal will make you laugh and laugh! The characters portrayed by Lisa
are various and numerous - Lisa is full of energy and it carries over
into the audience! Hilarity is the name of the game here and the
sendups are too much! Shamilla the Indian Cop Lady is too much -
they all are! I laughed so much. I am still sniggering! My partner
- a dry old man was laughing so much he nearly farted his way out
of the theatre! Lisa, you are a superstar my Dear - headed for great
things. Thank you for such a wonderful, Unforgettable evening!
Top rated entertainment. I am told by the Director, Mistress of
Comedy, Caroline Smart that the play may be returning later this year at a different venue - so make sure you do not miss it! Do not miss the chance to see Lisa Bobbert!
