Newly formed jazz band Mood Indigo will be playing at Sondela Tavern at
Sibaya Casino & Entertainment Kingdom every Friday from 7pm. Mood Indigo
is a jazz trio featuring Susan Barry on piano, Zoco Dimande on guitar and
Bernard Mndaweni on bass. As the name implies, the band will play laid
back jazzy sounds in styles ranging from jazz standards to fusion and Afro
jazz. There is no charge and doors open at 6pm.

Description:

Suncoast is poised for another fabulous year of great al fresco jazz events. The Developmental Band slot which focuses on grooming new jazz talent for their future careers is still an integral part of the Suncoast Sunday Jazz Sessions.

After a warm-up from up-and-coming jazz musos Suncoast treats jazz lovers to a couple of hours from some of Durban’s finest professional jazz artists, as well as national and international groups. The gig is free, so make a point of joining jazz enthusiasts in the Delano Room at Suncoast Conference Centre from 2 - 5 pm on 10 February.

February’s Developmental Band is FRESH & the Main Band, THE FANATICS, with the delightfully musical and entertaining Thulile Zama handling vocals, Shem Mahabeer on keyboards, Sydney Rash on drums and Bheka Mthethwa on bass. A great way to start the year!
